Materials and objects prohibited in the Baroque room
According to the European Code of Good Practice in the Field of Hyperbarine Medicine, access to material and items in the Baroque room is forbidden.
The Prohibition of these Materials and objects must be brought to the attention of the patient under signature by a person designated by the Medical Director of the Centre for Hyperbaric Medicine/Medical Director of the hospital in which the Baroque works. The designated Person shall be informed by a written document and informed by signature of the information obligation of the patient received.
Verification of compliance with this prohibition shall be made by a person (the same who has informed the patient under signature or other), who similarly acknowledges his or her duty by signature.
The List of possible risks given by the introduction of prohibited Materials and objects is as follows:
• C – The Possibility of structural damage to the Baroque or parts of the chamber
• D – Contamination of the environment
• E – Risk of explosion
• F – Risk of source of Fire
• L – Object that can be damaged due to pressure
• M – Objects that may disturb patients/treatment program
• P – May affect the capacities of divers/patients
The Letters are the risk code.
The List of prohibited Materials and Articles being placed in the chamber accompanied by the associated risk codes is the following (IN ALPHABETICAL ORDER):
• Adhesives (F)
• Aerosols (D, E, F)
• Aftershave (D, F)
• Alcohol (D, F, P)
• Batteries (F)
• Lighters, Matches (F)
• Clocks – Other than pressure resistant (L, M)
• Electrical Equipment-phones, radios, etc. (F)
• Clothes, blankets, pillows, sheets – other than Cotton 100 (F)
• Medicines not prescribed/not approved by the Hyperbaric Medicine Doctor (P)
• Cleaning Powders (C, F, P)
• Ink Pens (M)
• Chemical Substances/cleaning agents (D)
• Explosive Substances (E, F)
• Glass Thermometers (C, D, P)
• Thermoses (L, P)
• Cigarettes, Cigars, Tobacco of any kind (F, M)
• Cosmetic or petrochemical compounds (F)
• Sugar and other foods with flammable powders (E. F)
• Newspapers (F)
IMPORTANT NOTE!
It Is important to be aware of both patients and healthcare professionals that the clothes, bedding (sheets, pillows, blankets) placed in the chamber by patients or staff constitutes an additional risk if they are of material Synthetic, wool or are contaminated with products whose access is forbidden in the Baroque room!
Only cotton clothing/bedding or other materials compatible with the Hyperbar and engraved as such are allowed inside the bar.
